Djin Sganzerla is a director, actress, screenwriter and film producer. She is one of the Brazilian talents of her generation, receiving many national and international awards as best actress, best director and best film.
Djin directed her first feature film Ocean Girl, winning fifteen awards, three of them as Best Feature Film and two as Best Director. The film was released in 2020 in the USA and was shown in Europe, USA and Asia. It was shot in Japan and in Rio de Janeiro. In 2021 Djin was nominated by the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix one of the five finalists of the year as Best First Feature Film Director and was also nominated by the most important Screenplay Writers Award in Brazil for her screenplay of Ocean Girl.
She directed the short film Before Tomorrow (released at the 33º São Paulo International Short Film Festival, 2022), with André Guerreiro Lopes.
