Antonello spends his days on a secluded bench in a suburban cemetery. A janitor clandestinely administers that territory, checking people in and prolonged stops. The man demands a tourist tax from Antonello, who, in order to pay it, vainly conjures an invitation to his deceased old uncle named Palmiro. The uncle appears in a dream to Antonello but taunts his nephew. Antonello will find an easier way to pay the tax and remain on his beloved bench.
