Marta Lara is a photographer and filmmaker with studies in Contemporary Audiovisual Creation and Practice (LAV, Madrid) and in Contemporary Photography (EFTI, Madrid).
Through films, installations and filmic explorations she investigates the relationship between landscape, rhythm and perception. From a contemplative gaze, she builds her works from minimal gestures and simple structures -symmetrical, cyclical or in opposition-, generating pieces that adopt a minimal and paused form, where the narrative emerges from the formal aspects. In her recent works, she incorporates repetitive movements and loops installed in space, exploring the possible variations of a frame, a gesture or a color. She has presented her work in contexts such as (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico (A Coruña), Process Festival (Riga), Obskura (Rennes), Cineteca de Matadero (Madrid), Novos Cinemas (Pontevedra), AFW The Brunswick Green (Melbourne), 20 seconds (Berlin), Adriatikino (Fermo), ACME (Madrid) and Cruce (Madrid), among others.
