Screenwriter and director Wang Lina is rooted in her hometown of Xayar, Xinjiang. Her debut Uyghur-language feature film “A First Farewell” won major awards including Best Picture award for the Asia Future Unit at the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival; Best Picture by the International Jury of the New Generation Unit at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival; The 43rd Hong Kong International Film Festival Rookie Film Competition won multiple film festival awards, including Best Picture; Shanghai International Film Festival "Media pays attention to filmmakers”;
“Village Music” is Wang Lina’s second feature-length film, produced in Uyghur and following the everyday lives of Uyghur folk musicians in Xinjiang. It uses poetic and innovative cinematography to depict the changes taking place in the village of Kokchol in the hinterland of the Taklimakan, and a story of people and music within the flow of time.

执导作品《村庄 音乐》获得金鸡电影节创投大会评委会优胜项目、“艺术之光”优胜项目、最具潜力导演;丝绸之路国际电影节创投会大奖;海南岛国际电影节金知了声音奖、MORE VFX视效奖;上海国际电影节电影项目;香港国际电影节创投入围;新疆维吾尔自治区文艺扶持精品项目。
王丽娜曾担任第四届海南岛国际电影节剧本评审、第五届海南岛国际电影节短片评委,以及第40届德黑兰国际短片电影节主评委。
