Wenqian Zhang is a filmmaker and visual artist who works on fiction and documentaries. She earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019. After completing her studies, Wenqian returned to China and co-founded Trembling Flame Films with her partner Yue Huang in Shanghai.
In 2021, she produced Yue's short film, The Executioner, which premiered at the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival. Later, she completed her feature documentary debut, A Long Journey Home, which premiered at the 2022 Visions du Réel and won the jury prize in the Burning Lights Competition. It was also invited to several film festivals, including the Singapore International Film Festival and 2023 MoMA's Doc Fortnight. Her latest fiction film Remains of the Hot Day had its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Films Festival and won the Silver Bear Jury Prize of Berlinale Shorts.
张文倩,电影作者。其创作包含纪录片、剧情片及实验电影。她于2017年取得南京大学戏剧专业硕士学位,2019年取得芝加哥艺术学院电影及新媒体专业硕士学位。《五口之家》获2022瑞士尼翁真实电影节灼光单元评委会大奖,亦入围新加坡国际电影节、阿姆斯特丹亚洲国际电影节、莫斯科国际纪录片电影节、欧洲新媒体艺术展等多个节展,并于MoMA展映。2024年,她的短片《热天午后》获柏林电影节短片评审团银熊奖。
