Dirk Hornschuch (born in Thüringen, Eastern Germany) works on the borders between Photography and Moved Imagery. He experiments with trick, montage, movement and sound. In his body of work he is concerning topics like the effects of the 1990s on the former East Block, the relationship between humans and nature and infrastructure in rural areas. Besides that he also gives workshops in stop-motion-animation. After several stops in Romania and Hungary, he studied at Burg Giebichenstein Academy of Fine Arts in Halle/Saale and at Kunsthochschule für Medien Cologne. He was a scholarship of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Foundation.
