Edoardo Gabbai is an Italian filmmaker and producer based in London. He holds an MA in Art and Cultural Management from King’s College London and has a background in politics and cultural mediation. His debut documentary, (Be)Longing (2020), which deconstructs the idea of Europe through the experiences of four artists from Angola, Chile, Côte d’Ivoire, and Venezuela, was awarded Best Arts-Based Research Project by King’s College. He later directed Doppio (2021) for the international Kenopsia Project, a collective of filmmakers exploring isolation and resilience during the pandemic. His work combines documentary sensitivity with a cinematic approach to image and structure, often focusing on identity, belonging, and empathy across borders. In 2024, he co-founded FORME FILM with Lapo Mamoli Aprile — a production company established to serve a new generation of filmmakers and connect stories between the UK, Italy, and China. Together, they continue to develop their own projects and collaborate with emerging talents who share their vision of a borderless and emotionally driven cinema.
