Li Yuqian works across non-fiction film, site-specific moving images, and performative practices, focusing on microhistory and interpersonal relationships while continually exploring the relationship between people and images. Her practice explores embodiment and self-reflexivity in both the creative process and the resulting works, investigating how people and images shape, and are shaped by, each other, and how images, as both document and embodied presence, are present in people, space, memory, and identity.
