Marcelo Cugliari uses means of expression such as photography, video and field recordings to work on themes such as time/space and memory in urban or natural landscapes, portraits and objects. His main aim is that his pieces, whether visual or sound, are ambiguous / mysterious and generate some kind of question.
As a photographer he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Argentina and abroad, including Patrimonio Vivo contest organized by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina (2015). Jury mention in the Banco Ciudad photography competition in 2017 and 2023. Winner of the Sony World Photography Award, London, 2018 and finalist of the same competition in the Architecture category in 2024.
In 2021 Honourable Mention in the Urban Photo Award and finalist in 2022 in the same competition, among other awards and distinctions. As an author he has published three books: Ingrimo (2017) Indicios (2018) and Lo sguardo sinfónico : Suite 1 Italian edition (2021) and other books on commission.
He has produced non fiction films, and 6 experimental sound works, one of them ‘Unknown Landscapes’ 2023 produced by the Japanese label Neus-318, edited by Kazuya Ishigami and the other ‘Void Sessions’ by Daniel Crokaert of the Belgian label Unfathomless.
