Max Ferguson is a Brussels-based filmmaker and curator from Hong Kong whose practice is firmly rooted in the audiovisual arts. Ferguson's most recent film, You Are the Truck and I Am the Deer is an experimental hybrid film blending poetry and animation. Recently, Ferguson was a co-curator for the group exhibition Grains of Sand Like Mountains at Kunsthal Gent, which exposed the natural rhythms and forms of communal experience and collective identity. In her own work, Ferguson tests the limits of poetry and the moving image in order to explore how we can relate our own experiences to others. Outside of her filmmaking practice, Ferguson is a dedicated founding member of the cinema collective LuCi which places Brussels as the setting for varied encounters between students, artists and cultural workers with the moving image in all its forms.
