Patrick Doyon is an award-winning director and illustrator based in Montreal, Canada. His first professional film, Sunday (2011), garnered honours on the international festival circuit as well as being nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short. Trained in graphic design, Doyon divides his time between illustration and animation. His work has been recognized by several prestigious institutions, including the Art Directors Club, the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts and the Arte Laguna Prize. In 2015, he received the Governor General’s Literary Award for his illustrated children’s book The Sandwich Thief. In addition to his artistic practice, Doyon teaches animation at the UQAM School of Design.
