Pedro Hasrouny is a Lebanese filmmaker and photographer based in Lisbon. He holds a degree in Cinema and a master’s degree in Film Directing. In his work, Pedro often delves into intimate and personal themes inspired by his own life experiences. He wrote and directed his first independent short film, Autostrade Beirut, which premiered at the Raindance Film Festival, 2021. His master's graduation film, Uma Mãe Vai à Praia won the award for Best Short Film at Sophia Estudante 2024, presented by the Portuguese Academy of Cinema. The short film also premiered at Curta Cinema - Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival and was selected for several other festivals, including IndieLisboa and Curtas Vila do Conde in Portugal, Concorto Film Festival in Italy, São Paulo International Short Film Festival (KinoForum), and Aesthetica Film Festival in the UK. Pedro is currently in the process of developing his first feature film.
