Having grown up in pragmatic and technocratic Sweden, Ullman’s work often tries to dissect the logical and human-centered practices that are the natural sciences. After graduating from the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Ullman makes animated videos that follow non-humans and humans, often in closed indoor spaces, trying to navigate the spaces they are placed in both physically and mentally. The work often deals with the question of what it means to be human or non-human in our current day and age.
