Shu Cao is one of the most important contemporary video artists in China. His art works primarily focus on narrative 3D digital moving images, video games, and site-specific installations. His works are based on local practices, intricately weaving together mythical metaphors, historical archives, and social issues. His previous film works have been selected at the competition of festivals such as Dok Leipzig, Annecy, Ottawa International Animation Festival, Hannover Short Film Festival, etc.
