Sophie Sherman (1980) is a filmmaker based in Brussels, Belgium. She has a master's degree in Documentary direction from the Province University of Aix en Provence, FR and a master's degree in Fine Arts from the Fine Arts College of Marseille, FR. She was then admitted at Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains, FR. Her films were screened at Torino Film Festival, IT ; at Côté court, FR ; L'Alternativa - Barcelona, ES; at Thessaloniki International Film Festival, GR; at Ecrans Documentaires, Wiels in Brussels, BE, Ontsteking in Ghent, BE, among others. In recent years, she has mainly explored the medium of 16 mm through an essayistic and experimental documentary approach, with films such as The Walk (2025, 19'), The water was here (2025, 15', co-directed with Némo Camus), and Hold My Hand (2025, 17').
