Utkarsh is a filmmaker and writer from Delhi, India, focusing on the politics of memory and the role of image production and archives in shaping collective and individual memory. His films have been showcased at global festivals, including Berlinale, EXiS, FICUNAM, and Festival ECRÃ, and he has received the Flaherty Film Seminar Fellowship, CalArts Research & Practice Fellowship, Lavine & Sternberg Scholarship, and Lillian Disney Scholarship. His work has been featured in publications such as Débordements and Film Companion, and his writings on photography and film have appeared in The Caravan Magazine, STIRworld, Garland Magazine, and the Dhaka Tribune. He holds an MFA in Film/Video from CalArts and a BA in Contemporary Art Practices from Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
