Véronique Laveau
It was during her travels around the world that Véronique discovered documentary filmmaking. Her first short film, “Le jour, elles chantent”, was selected for several festivals, including Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois (RVCQ) and Festival Vues sur mer. In 2021, she will direct “Les perles de Mamita” (CALQ and NFB), which explores the intergenerational bond. Her training as a sociologist, her work with First Nations and Bosnian immigrants and Congolese refugees in Quebec, and her sojourns in Africa, the Middle East and Taiwan have all had a major impact on the way she tells the story of women.
