Xun Yuan, originally from Dalian, Northeast China and now based in GuangZhou and Rotterdam, is a documentary director and cinematographer. He studied Cinematography at the Communication University of China and, in 2021, joined Docnomads, an Erasmus Mundus master’s program specializing in documentary film directing. His films have been selected for festivals including CinemAsia Film Festival in the Netherlands, DokuBaku International Documentary Film Festival in Azerbaijan, and Reykjavík International Film Festival in Iceland. Xun has won several awards, including the Jury Award at the 2nd Chinese Film Festival Hamburg and the Best Documentary Director Award at the 20th Beijing College Student Film Festival. His works have been acquired by the Chinese Independent Film Archive (UK). Xun aims to blend Eastern and Western cultures to create a unique artistic expression in his films.
