Zhang Xiao is a filmmaker and artist working between Guangdong and Los Angeles. Her work delves into personal poetics, drawing from cross-generational memory, body politics, and mythological materials, exploring the space in between material reality and subjective experience.

She holds an MFA in Film/Video from California Institute of the Arts and a BFA from Beijing Film Academy. Zhang’s work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the BFI London Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Tai Kwun (Hong Kong), REDCAT (Los Angeles), Beijing International Short Film Festival, Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival, CROSSROADS, and EXiS Experimental Film & Video Festival, among others.
