Together, these images are 4 seconds of video at 25 fps, yet this synthesized composite image acquires its own life. 10x10 explores the dissection and synthesis of time. The audience may ‘read’ a period of time, observe ‘the complete instant’ composed of 100 images, or engage in a fluid interplay of both. Here time also grows in a perpendicular axis to the original (like crested plants) and forms a contorted, wavy shape, letting us re-examine cinema’s apparatus, revealing new dimensions of perception, movement, and reality.
