Missle-Missa focuses on the “Factory 724,” a missile-manufacturing complex on the outskirts of Shenyang. Originally constructed during the Japanese occupation, the site was nationalized after the war and has remained in operation ever since. Like other classified military plants, the “724 District” once functioned as a self-contained and isolated system. Taking the missile as its central medium, the film probes into this concealed mode of production while, within today’s context of ongoing hot wars, re-examines how the missile gives rise to another regime of image-making—one in which power, faith, and destruction converge into a visual ritual.
