In 2022, I was invited to the BAFICI Festival in Buenos Aires to present my film "At the Circuit." I had lived there for three months in 1972, fifty years earlier, during a year-long poetic wandering.
It was a magical moment of reunion and reminiscence.I had brought Borges's Fictions with me and read it during my stay. Reading "The Library of Babel" deeply moved me, because it seemed to me, in each of the photos I took, that I could find a commentary or anticipation of it in Borges's work.
It was truly incredible, and added to the unreality that bathes Buenos Aires. I wanted to reflect this in and through this film, which I hope will allow a select few to experience, for 26 minutes, the states of mind shared by myself and the one I now call, since then, my spiritual father: Borges.
