Aleksandr Belov, 32, is currently studying at the Stockholm University of the Arts after recently moving from Russia to Sweden. His work is grounded in professionalism and a deep interest in the techniques of old masters, including silent cinema and analog formats such as film. He believes that a film’s idea should be conveyed through light, sound, and camera movement. In his films, he often places the human figure in contrast with the surrounding space — whether it be a country, society, or isolation.
