Nick Jordan is a multidisciplinary artist whose work centres upon the interconnections between natural, cultural and social ecologies. The artist's field of practice includes film, print, photography, painting, drawing, sculptural objects and collaborations. Exploring the interdependent spaces that exist between the human and more-than-human, Jordan’s hybrid documentaries are filmed and edited by the artist with an unplanned or intuitive response to material, people and environments. The films often combine original footage with archival elements and soundscapes, to create oblique, layered narratives.
The artist’s work has been exhibited widely at international museums, galleries and film festivals, including Innsbruck International Biennale (Austria); HOME, Manchester (UK); Videonale, Kunstmuseum, Bonn (Germany); Musée du Quai Branly (France); Whitstable Biennale (UK); Darwin State Museum (Russia); ICA (UK); Documenta Madrid (Spain); British Textile Biennial (UK); CPH:Dox (Denmark); Kurzfilmtage Winterthur (Switzerland); Kassel Dokfest (Germany); São Paulo International Short Film Festival (Brazil). Nick Jordan studied Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University (BA) and Manchester Metropolitan University (MA). He is the founder & curator of Braziers International Film Festival and is based in Manchester, UK.
