In an upscale nightclub in Guilin, there is a group of street-dancing teenagers with clown masks, who maneuver between dignitaries and chaperones to amuse the customers and earn tips. This was the experience of director Lihai during his adolescence. Years later, Lihai decided to put on the masks again and return to the nightclub to record the clowns' story.
